I have an undergrad degree from a state school and I'll tell you the difference is night and day between Mt Mary and UW Oshkosh. Here, the teachers really do know you, notice if you miss class, want to hear your opinion and expect you to do the work. While there is competition, most of it is friendly and fun. The school is accomodating and open. It is a little rough if you aren't Christian to go to a Catholic school, but 99% of the people are nice about it.
