Monmouth University is a private university located in West Long Branch, New Jersey.It was founded as "Monmouth Junior College" in 1933 and became Monmouth College in
1956. In 1995 it became Monmouth University.There are about 3,500 full-time and 500 part-time undergraduate and 1,600 graduate students, as well as 232 full-time faculty
members. 45% of faculty members hold Ph.D.s. The
university's student-to-faculty ratio is about 15:1. Because of the university's relatively small student population, class sizes
are capped between 20 and 35 and no classes are taught by TAs. 45% of students live on-campus.It has seven schools: the Wayne D. McMurray School of Humanities and Social Sciences; the School of Education; the School of
Business Administration; the School of Science, Technology and Engineering; the Marjorie K. Unterberg School of Nursing and
Health Studies; the Edward G. Schlaefer School; and the Graduate School.
