I attended Mercer in the eighties. They have substantially grown since then. I would reccomend Mercer to anyone. It has the Southern charm of Macon, Georgia and is really a small school compared to the monstrous state schools. However, Mercer has a lot of options and one could really go far with the some effor. Medical, law, engineering, nursing, etc.,etc.. Meanwhile, you also get the greek system, the one on one counseling and the small southern feel. Just don't do what I did. Drink all the time, be rowdy and not concentrate on a future. I had sio much fun while I was there but did not equip myself beyond that.Mercer has a lot of pluses for it's undergraduate students and I would say yes go. |

This school is ideal for people who enjoy small classrooms and dedicated faculty who know your name. However, the name Mercer doesn't carry great weight with schools outside of the Southeast, and the Baptist influence is undeniable. |

If you were entering the Engineering school, make sure you are really boned up on your math, physics, and chemistry. They have some rough Professors in these fields. Some of the professors are very good, yet some seem like they feel they are above the fray. Most teachers in the school of engineering were good though. This school seems like they are up and coming, I highly recommend it.
The University Center is awesome. The dorms for the freshman kind of stink, but starting sophomore year, the dorms become great.
