This school has changed a lot over the past ten years, but it still retains its small-school feel. The student body is somewhat conservative and not as diverse as it could and should be. However, the school is nearly 100% focused on its undergraduate students. Individual students get lots of attention and there are tons of resources available for their use. I definitely recommend the college, because it is such a tight-knit community, but not so small that there aren't lots of options. Just be aware that the campus leans conservative.
Mary Washington has a beautiful campus, and a wonderful and caring faculty. I found it to be challenging though, and it is definately a suitcase school, so don't go to if you like to party. Didn't have a minor program when I was there (and still doesn't, I think) which some people considered to be a negative. Classes are small, so you get to know the other students and the professors real well.
