Marquette University is a private, co-educational Roman
Catholic university in the United States. Founded by the Society of Jesus
in 1881, it is one of 28 member institutions of the Association of
Jesuit Colleges and Universities. Accredited by the North Central Association of Colleges and Secondary Schools, Marquette
University is located in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. It
currently has a student body of 11,000. The two largest colleges are devoted to engineering and life sciences.
