If I had to do it over again, I would have chosen this college to start out, but I may have transferred after a year.
It really is a great school, but they don't do a very good job of preparing students for the real world. Students are sheltered, and get no taste of the real world. The strict rules are put in place to keep students from making bad life decisions, but they have to understand that there will not always be a guide. In life, they'll have to figure things out for themselves. I recommend this school, only if one understands that it's not a representation of real life.
Liberty really has a wonderful Christian atmosphere and professors who care about their students, but it tries to hard to control people's lives.
Liberty University is a wonderful college. The teachers are very attentive. They genuinlly care about their student. Some advice I would give to anyone considering Liberty is remember that it is a Christian college. Dont go there just because your parents want you to because then you will not enjoy yourself. Make sure its a personal decision. I would definately recommend this college. The campus is beutiful. Students, Staff and Faculty are friendly. You might not know that Liberty is Virginia's largest private college. They have alot of fun stuff for everyone to get involved in without the normal drugs and alcohol that other college students get pushed into.
Liberty University provides the perfect environment for young Christians. From the academic climate to the social atmosphere, Liberty provides every type of student with opportunities to improve themselves. The gorgeous campus spreads across the heart of Virginia, and the college town of Lynchburg won't leave any college student wanting. The tuition might be a bit pricey; but with scholarships, the cost should be reasonable. Liberty isn't for fundamentalist Christians; instead, it stresses acceptance, a tolerant lifestyle, and encourages students to reach out to the community. Overall, Liberty is everything I wanted in a college, and I don't regret my choice one bit.
If you are going to go to Liberty then you need to put your car in storage. As with most campuses, parking is only available to juniors and seniors. Most students ride the bus or a bike or they can run/jog to clss quickly. Classes are fun and you learn a lot. But the classes are pretty large. I would recommend this college and I would go back to liberty but people should know it is in the middle of nowhere.
Despite the national reputation that Jerry Falwell may have, Liberty University is a top notch school! Also, Jerry Falwell kinda gets a bad rap in the media, he is a very down to earth guy and is very interested in the students at Liberty. Liberty also has great academics (from my experience) and a very diverse staff!
I came in mid-year and got stuck with the biggest B*#$@ that no one could room with....but other than that, Liberty is wonderful if you are a conservative Christian. If not, you will be miserable.
