Being a student at Indiana Wesleyan was a wonderful experience. My time there significantly shaped my outlook both on life and the world. I elected to major in Philosophy and found myself struggling with some of the most difficult and disheartening questions of life in the midst of a community which was both supportive and encouraging. This was true not only of the student body, but especially of the professors; many of whom have become role models for me in life after college. They encouraged their students to embrace an academic life of honesty and integrity, and a faith strong enough to support it.
While campus activities were often personally disappointing, for others they were endearing. Either way it is undeniable that a certain sense of fellowship and deep spirituality permeates the entire community. Without indulging in personal likes or dislikes with regards to the structure of weekly requirements and expectancies, it must be noted that Indiana Wesleyan has found that near-perfect blend discipline and liberty. In those coming from a strict home environment it enables them to comfortably ease to life out in the world, for those coming from more moderate backgrounds like myself it enables us to experience the act of abstaining from one activity or another for the sake of someone else's benefit.
Overall I highly recommend Indiana Wesleyan to anyone who might be seeking a college where they can grow in both the mental, spiritual, emotional, and even physical areas of life.
