I enjoyed attending Hamline. Socially, they make it very easy for first year students to attend. You attend FYSEM (first year seminar) where you live on the same floor as people you have your FYSEM class with (sort of like a grown up homeroom). You make a lot of friends, and the staff is very welcoming at Hamline. However, a large emphasis at Hamline is placed on living at their dorms. I felt slightly out of place my first year there, as I didn't live on campus. My sophomore year, however, I chose to live there and get the "full" Hamline experience. Professors are very knowledgeable, food is actually pretty good, and my overall Hamline experience was very good. The cost, however, was quite high...and I personally felt the quality of my education was comperable to that of "cheaper" colleges. However, the Hamline name says a lot to prospective employees, and for those looking for a private college, Hamline is a good place to start your research. |
