Just because it is a Jesuit university don't assume you have to be Catholic to go there. Gonzaga goes out of its way to make students from all faith, culture, and other backgrounds welcome. It provides a world class education with incredible facilities thanks to the popularity and success of the basketball team. The campus is very positive and you can always find something going on from theater and arts to sports and outdoor entertainment.
The city of Spokane where Gonzaga is located is a bit small and quiet. It has all the amenities of large cities like museums, arts, music, and festivals, but everything is on a small scale. It's getting bigger, but don't expect lots of parties, or high society events.
Overall, Gonzaga is a great choice. They support their students and alumni in all their endeavors, and you will feel like part of a family once you attend. I highly recommend it, especially to anyone looking to get a great education without going to a "big box" university where you might get lost in the shuffle. |
