Raffles Education Corporation, in partnership with Educomp Solutions Ltd, has opened its design institute Raffles Millennium International (RMI) in New Delhi at Pusa Road. The chief guest for the occasion, Sumeet Nair, principal, Delhi Fashion Week, inaugurated the institute along with Ron Newman, president, Raffles University. Raffles Millennium International will offer certificate courses in fashion design, product design, graphic design, interior design, multimedia design, fashion marketing and management among others.
NURTURING SELF DRIVE
The Indian School of Business (ISB) has recently announced its ‘Nurture India Scholarships’ initiative which aims to motivate and support its graduates who are keen to start entrepreneurial ventures or work with organisations in the development sector. The school has set aside a corpus of Rs 30 lakhs that will be used to support selected students through payment of their educational loan for a period of two years. ISB would initially support five graduates starting this year. Those graduates who have accepted employment in social ventures like microfinance, NGOs and grassroots level development institutions and those who are in the process of rolling out their own ventures immediately after graduation would be eligible to apply to this scholarship initiative.
EXPORT THRUST
The Institute of Apparel Management (IAM), promoted by the Apparel Export Promotion Council (AEPC), has recently signed an MoU with Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT) to introduce an apparel export management course for executives. The MoU was signed between Darlie O Koshy, director general and chief executive officer, IAM and K T Chacko, director, IIFT in the presence of Rakesh Vaid, chairman, AEPC. Offering 40 seats, the programme will be delivered at both the IIFT and IAM campuses.
NOBLE CAUSE
The Institute of Information Technology and Management - Mba Colleges, affiliated to Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU), had recently organised a blood donation camp in collaboration with Rotary Blood Bank, Tuglakabad. This camp had an overwhelming participation from the faculty, staff and students of the institute. |
