This is a great college for intellectually curious, self-motivated students. Small class size and informal seminar-style classes mean you get a lot of individual attention. Professors usually have open-door policies that make them highly available to students. Evergreen also offers the opportunity to create your own Individual Learning Contract, where you can take control of your own curriculum and study what really interests you. This has led to some jokes about "If you can do it, you can get credit for it," but these contracts can be more challenging than traditional college courses, allowing undergraduates to do graduate-level work.
The only drawback to Evergreen's unique educational style is that it requires self-discipline and independence. If you need your professor breathing down your neck to accomplish anything, Evergreen is not the school for you, but if you're able to commit to your education, Evergreen provides an amazing amount of flexibility and the chance to challenge yourself to accomplish more than you would get at a more traditional college.
