Excellent small school. I would highly recommend this college - just make sure you don't choose to live in Wagner. ;)
If I had to do it all over again, I would likely choose this college.
Pros:
Excellent professors, friendly people, nice cafeteria, nice campus, involved student body, fun activities.
Cons:
Small town, in the middle of nowhere, might be a bit too small, some dorms a bit dated, surrounding town isn't very impressive.
Know that this is one of the best small schools in the Midwest. It is very underrated, with much to offer. The professors are extremely personable, always willing to help, and generally awesome. The student body is, while liberal, quite reasonable regarding campus issues, and the administration is equally superb. A wonderful experience. |

If it weren't pathetic to still wish you were in college, I would go back in a second. Wooster was a wonderful experience, and it gave me strong preparation for getting a great job after college. The professors there were completely engaged in the work we were doing, were approachable, and taught all the classes offered -- no graduate student TAs.
All seniors work one on one with a professor to complete an Independent Study -- a senior thesis that was more advanced than anything I did in the University of Michigan master's program I completed after my degree at Wooster. The opportunity to delve so deeply into a subject you're truly interested in, something you choose, is priceless.
My friends from Wooster are still a tight-knit group. I am in daily contact with six of them and weekly contact with many more. One of my professors travelled six hours to attend my wedding three years ago, when I was seven years out of college.
Cons ... well, I guess you wouldn't want to go there if you were set on an urban campus. Wooster is about an hour south of Cleveland, and there are opportunities to get off campus several times a month, but it isn't a large city. Then again ... if you golf, Wooster's got its own course.
Also ... the band wears kilts and pipes the football players onto the field for every game. Talk about a memory that lasts a lifetime ... |
