California State University, Fresno has some great programs. They have excellent professors and resources. The cost of living is cheaper than other university locations. This enables students to not have to work as much and attend school. The university has a wide variety of programs. They are best known for their Education and Business schools. The biggest problem with my alma matter is the location. Fresno is extremly isolated it's more like an overpopulated large town. All major cities are a few hours away which can be great for studying but not so great for people in their twenties who need to explore new cultures and experiences.
I'm pretty satisfied thus far with my University. If you don't care a whole lot about the weather then Fresno would be fine, but if you hate the heat then might want to think elsewhere. My education has been great so far.
Fresno State gets a lot of attention for it's football team, but other than that. Its a meteocre ag school that has mostly ag students that couldnt get off to a better ag school. We all come from surrounding areas. This place lacks beauty and a range of different things to do. I guarantee that if you meet somebody from a distance, like LA or just about any other place, the first question they will be asked by everybody is, "Why Fresno?" in an unappealing tone.
