This is an average college. I think every college experience is what you make of it. I would highly recommend it for business or education, but that's about it. As a science major here, there isn't much high-quality research. The administration has made some bad money handling decisions, and I don't know why they think spending millions to build two new buildings when the last one they knocked down still isn't rebuilt, and we're in debt, and enrollment is down, is a good idea. However, if you just want a quiet little town to get a degree quickly, I'd say go here.

Overall you get the college experience. Make sure you know all the information about your major ie. If it involves an internship afterwords does the school place you or do you have to find your own (for dietetics you are on your own). A con is they call way to much asking for donations, and they do not want to take NO for an answer.

If you are looking for diversity, look elsewhere. The school is in a very rural area and is mostly made up of white Midwesterners. The campus is not a highlight. Still, the school has a very nice environment, and people are generally friendly. Bowling Green is considered a party school, and isn't known for it's academic reputation. If I could do it again, I would probably choose a place that had more of things I am looking for - more diversity, and more of a reputation for academic excellence. Still, I can't deny I had a decent education. Overall, the school isn't nearly as bad as it's reputation makes it out to be.

Many people say that college is 'the best four years of their lives'. Based on my experience at Bowling Green, I don't believe that this is going to be true for me. It isn't a bad university, but I definitely wouldn't recommend it to anyone. However, I know a lot of students that absolutely love it here. Personally, I believe that there are many better colleges out there and would encourage students that are considering Bowling Green to definitely explore all of their options before deciding on this school. In the end, every student is different and needs to make a decision based on their own criteria.

BGSU is a great college that provides a great learning experience. With the large variety of selectable majors BGSU caters to the needs of students of all walks of life. My experiences here have shown me that this isnâ€™t just a state institution but a place where you can build strong bonds and get a great education. I would recommend this school to anyone thinking about furthering their education.

At BGSU, make use of all the student facilities while you can, after graduation, there is little, if any, accomodation made to alumni. For example, a BGSU graduate does not recieve free or discounted entry to the student recreation center. Bowling Green, and now all of Ohio, is smoke free in public places, restaraunts, bars, bowling alleys, and work places, which also includes 30ft outside the door. This is a wonderful thing in my opinion, but it might influence others differently. Another concideration is that a trip to Windsor, Ontario, a favorite run of many BGSU students, will now require a passport, so be advised.
