This would be a good local school...certainly not a destination school. Though they do have on campus housing, the commute is good from the surrounding area. Parking could be a bit of a bother.
Though the campus is adequate and beautiful in the spring-time, the extra-curricular activities tend to be lacking. In terms of academic programs, Augusta State is trying to expand yet they have quite a ways to go. I would not recommend this college to anyone seeking a rigorous education, nor to anyone who enjoys a metropolitan city. The surrounding area is heave for golf-lovers as well as the religiously inclined.
This is a great school. It does not have any recognition outside of Augusta though. I would recommend it nonetheless. The faculty is great and the new buildings are stunning. The "college life" isn't that great. There is no on campus housing and there are a lot of older students.
40 years ago, women used to score 50 points lower on the Math portion of the SAT than on the Verbal. Today, their Math and Verbal scores are nearly identical on average.
