The cons are that it is a huge campus: many opportunities exist for social networking but largely, the student is anonymous. Find something to get involved with.
If you are from outside the state of Arizona, be prepared for the weather. Summers are hot (well over 100), but the plus is during the normal school year: temperatures are very moderate. Do you think you can get prepared for 70 degrees in January?
I attended twenty years ago, but I would assume many rules still apply. When I attended, it was on the top five for party schools. My advice is to research to see if this is still current so you can make an informed decision on your education.
ASU is a grat school for graduate studies. Situated in the Phoenix valley, the place has ideal temperature. The faculty on the electrical engineering department is world class. The recent grant by IRa Fulton to the engineering department has exposed more funds for research and development and also opened gates for graduate and under grad students for schlorships. It has a great international mixof people. being from India, I never had a problem getting used to the place and the people because there were a lot of students fom India to guide me.
I would certainly recommend this University to prospective international students. The culture, environment and people are just perfect for a well rounded college education.
I loved ASU. IF you want to go to a school that has a good party/bar atmosphere but still has good academic credentials then this is the school for you. The school has great sport teams so if you like to cheer for your football or basketball team ASU has it, as well as great weather. I've recommended ASU to everyone I know. IF you dont like big campuses or schools with an urban feel than this isn't the place for you
There is a lot of partying going on around this school, and it is very difficult to focus on getting an education. The faculty seemed not to care about the individual students as much as I envisioned. A good thing about this school is that there is a lot of good looking women attending!
I chose this school for it's journalism program and found that it had an amazing education program as well. Overall, I had a great experience with the professors and courses offered. I did have some small issues with the change in administration, as tuition increased each of the last four semesters that I was enrolled, but the costs are comparable with any state university. There is a wonderful social environment as is is a large school in a college town. I reccomend it for anyone working on thier undergraduate degree.
Arizona State University is a school with a large, diverse student population. It does have a reputation for having a very social atmosphere, but the administration has taken great pains to make the university a modern and scholarly institute of higher learning. I'm impressed more and more at how ASU has continued to develop its image and the resources it has to offer to serious students. The weather is nice, the campus is clean, the professors are friendly and accesible. Oh, and there are certainly a lot of recreational activities available to the adventurous!
