I guess I'll give the advice I was given before I went to Uarts. Or, more a warning..they pretty much un-teach you everything you've ever known about art things. Your best work in high school, well, in a few years, you'll realize all the things wrong with it. BUT!! This is not a bad thing. Uarts does a good job of teaching important skills, overall principles that apply to any medium, not just one specific thing. I would definately recommend UArts as long as you can take criticism and are good at keeping up with work! It's true that you'll do more work than you've ever done before in your life, but it's all worth it, and even the incredibly stupid things serve a purpose. One thing you may not know, not really necessary, but important, is that the Graphic Design program is based on the design school in Basel, Switzerland, the center of graphic design of the world. Good stuff!
Be Prepared for a change of scenery and people. The University of the arts is a great school but is very diversed and liberal. If you are passionate about any kind of art you do then it is the school to go to. I haven't had any problems with anything and overall enjoy all the classes. There are no sports teams at the school nor frats. It is a topped ranked art school in the heart of Philadelphia.
The number of students who study the Russian language in U.S. colleges has dropped in half since the end of the Cold War. Chinese, on the other hand, has doubled.
