It was the perfect mix -- not too boring but not all parties either! You could study in your room or find a party somewhere. It wasn't overwhelmingly either way. Fred Fest was a drinking party, but it wasn't all year long. Grades were pretty good overall for most of the students. It was a safe campus without being boring. Fun without being party central. Nice comfortable rooms. Plenty of places to eat on campus. Everything was right there and relatively pleasant all the time. The perfect mix. I'd recommend it to any freshman looking for a good college experience.
When it was founded in 1701, Yale University was called the "Collegiate School."
