Centenary was a small, fairly close-knit community. The best programs were: music, biology, sociology, and math. Greek life was limited - 2 sororities and approx 5-6 fraternities. The campus is aesthetically pleasing and fairly safe. Cafeteria food was terrible. Student life and housing staff were also terrible, but the faculty was of very high quality. Shreveport, LA is growing and has some nice benefits (like casinos) without some of the drawbacks (like traffice) of larger cities.
The number of students who study the Russian language in U.S. colleges has dropped in half since the end of the Cold War. Chinese, on the other hand, has doubled.
