I feel that my experience at Wayne County Community District prepared me for the larger university setting. For students apprehensive regarding the very large classroom setting of a university, I would suggest taking pre-req's at the community college level first. This could help them familiarize themselves with the structure of college life with the exception of dorm living. I would definitely recommend WC3 to anyone interested in obtaining a certificate or two year degree as a stepping stone to the 4 year or masters level degree. One of the biggest disadvantages I encountered was the space available in the library and student resourece centers. If I had to do it again knowing what I know, I would still choose this path before trying a university setting. Another plus is that they have excellent instructors and a great nursing program.
On average, men have a greater incidence of reading disabilities (such as dyslexia) than women.
