A great value for the money. The instructors are for the most part great teachers who like and enjoy their jobs. The campus is nicely kept and well air conditioned. The parking situation is good and depending where you live, not too hard to get to on the bus. Good looking students. Very well integrated workforce development programs in health care, visitor industry, culinary, and I'm forgetting what else. The culinary department has a nice dining room lunch each day for a good price.
KCC is a much better choice for your first two years than going to UH Manoa. You can transfer easily after the first two years if you want to continue your degree.
The only drawback is that the campus is small. You still have a lot of privileges that allow you to use UH system facilities and programs, but KCC itself only has a small library and small facilities. It's a daytime college, so there aren't dorms and not much of a campus life, but then there's not much of a campus life at any college in Honolulu.
The number of students who study the Russian language in U.S. colleges has dropped in half since the end of the Cold War. Chinese, on the other hand, has doubled.
