The campus is beautifully landscaped and kept well-maintaiedn. The quad has a geyser fountain in its center where on a hot day, you'll see students and even staff and faculty sitting on its rim enjoying the cool mist emitting from it. There is a public boat dock on the Coosa River which lines the "Back 40" of GSCC, past the horticultural gardens and hot houses storing and raising floral and produce varieties. Annually the Alabama Special Olympics uses the GSCC's excellent facilities with its students volunteering their time in assisting in the many sports and participating events.
