The campus is beautiful, located in Los Altos hills. It's one of the top two community colleges in California, the other being it's sister school, De Anza College. It's also one of the few on a quarter system, which helps you get through the classes quicker and on your way to a certificate, degree, or transfer faster, but also requires more work, as your study time is cramped. Also, the quarter system messes up the summer/winter break schedule a bit, making other local colleges seem a bit more relaxed. The campus counseling service is great, make full use of it. There are lots of internships available, including places like NASA. There are lots of resourced available to students, including math, English, science, and social science centers to help students study, for free. I liked these centers more than personal tutors, as well, they were a lower-pressure environment. If you're looking to get a solid education, and don't mind working a little harder to get it done quickly, Foothill is a great option, and they will do a lot to accommodate students and make sure everyone can pass their classes. |
