I graduated from Finger lakes Community College in 1997 and do not regret the decision to go there. The price is about 80% cheaper than what you would pay at a state school and I found that you get more one on one attention. My degree is in criminal justice and the teachers are excellent. They make it very entertaining and offer real life experiences.
I'd say that most if not all of the classes I took at FLCC had wonderful professors and would go above and beyond to help you learn.
The only negatives I have to say about the school is the parking is very limited, If you have a morning class you may have to walk a half a mile or so. I know that doesn't sound like a big deal but with the upstate NY winters, you may be talking about negative 10 degrees and a couple feet of snow.
