A very interesting and exciting career. Lots of variation, not boring. Every day something different. Good for those who enjoy mental and technical hands-on work. Need to be good with people and animals. Need to be a person that is willing to work hard and long hours - occasionally during the night. I recommend this as a career especially if you enjoy a challenge. Not just a job, is a career.
Overall. I like being a veterinarian very much. But what they don't tell you in veterinary school is that you are also have to deal with the clients and a lot of times they may not follow your recomendations. Also people getting into this field need to be aware that veterinary school is very expensive. I have a school loan that is more than my mortgage each month. In additon, if you are not able to buy your own practice, you are usually at the mercy of a boss that has been out of school for 20+ years, is very resistant to change, new medical advances, and only has their own selves interest at heart.
The U.S. Treasury once printed $100,000 bills (featuring a portrait of Woodrow Wilson) but none of the bills were ever released into public circulation.
