I would recommend this career to anyone who is looking for part-time work (especially while in school), or to anyone who is looking for something stable with decent benefits.
I like my job because I get to interact with a lot of different people on a daily basis. The security aspect of the job poses a challenge to me, both in keeping alert at all times and keeping up to date on the latest procedures and threats. I find that I learn a lot both about people and inventions in the world through my job.
There are a few things I don't like. The most commonly occurring thing that makes my job difficult is the way the travelling public sees me and my fellow screeners. A lot of people treat us with disrespect or as though listening to our advice is an inconvenience to their day. There is also the fact that complying with rules you don't agree with can be difficult.
Overall, if I could go back in time, I'd still choose to do this job.
