I used to work as an events manager on several projects (music festival, marketing events and others). I would say that on the day of the event it is satisfying to see everything come together and to see people have a great time is rewarding. But, all the work leading up to it is extremely stressful (event planner was ranked third among most stressful careers next to surgeons). I left the job because of high stress levels, crazy odd hours and overworking and pretty poor pay. This career would suit a highly organized person who can negotiate good rates with vendors, manage the team and work well with clients. It's also flexible so you can work from home or start your own event planning business. I personally wouldn't recommend this job because I like to have life outside of work too. But for some people it can be a great fit, at least until you want to start a family and need work/life balance.

I work as a marketing agent for a company that sells direct marketing products. I work to get the Google ranking of our webpage up and I also speak with clients directly. I think this job is pretty cool.
