My current career is being an apprentice for a funeral home in my area. I am currently going to N.E.I in Newton, Massachusetts to get a bachelor’s degree in Funeral Home Management. This degree would allow me to run a funeral home from the ground up. Currently I am working at a funeral home to get some experience within the field and if I had to rate my job as an apprentice from one to ten (ten being the best job in the world) I would rate it a 7. My reasons behind this are because each day is a new situation and never the same. The work environment is very good and the people I met are great. I would encourage many others to work or help out in this field of work.
In the 18th and 19th century, hatmakers used poisionous chemicals including mercury in their work. As result, many developed pathological symptons -- an estimated 10% went insane. Hence the term "mad as a hatter" and Lewis Carroll's character, the Mad Hatter.
