I love this field! Do you naturally recognize potential in others, or look for it? Are you thrilled watching people work and play in their areas of talent and expertise? Are you driven to guide others in discovering their interests, skills, etc. and the roles that best fit them? If so then you might really love it too! A Master's in Counseling, School Counseling, or Higher Education would be good choices for entry. With a Bachelor's, try starting as an employment recruiter or college recruiter/admissions representative. Educational requirements may not be absolute except, for example, for school counselors which in my state need to have a Master's, school internship, and state certification. Do your research and talk to people! Pay varies greatly among different jobs in the field, but it's not a job to get into for the money. |

yes,its very interesting career in which you can enhance the knowledge and come to know more about human psychology. one who is having interest in psychology must choose this career. yes i would luv to choose this career again. most of the people viewed that any body from any field can become a counsellor, its not true,it requires proper knowledge of psychology, conducting psychological tests ,and some special traits are also required. pros and cons are-its not very much paid careeer initially but once you established yourself as a counsellor you will get more rewards, some times one get so much involved with the problems of others that he or she can also get in to depression,so one should know how to detach emotionally with the problems of others. |

This is a great career for someone who loves working with teenagers. It is also an amazing way to touch the lives of many people. It can be stressful but I think that it is rewarding enough to be worth it! |
