I work in the Lightning protection field, as with any drafting however 'real world' experience is priceless you can go to as many technical schools as you want in the end an employer worth his/her salt will want to see you draft before they hire you. So if you do not know the software, learn it. You will gain experience and knowledge from being on the job but if you do not have that firm base in the software you will not get many opportunities.
